Tis the Season

This is probably pointless to say (if you know me at all this will come as no surprise) but I FREAKING LOVE CHRISTMAS. Thankfully, my beaux shares my passion for said holiday and together we celebrate all December long. We start by getting our Christmas tree the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Last year, it started snowing as we picked out our tree. Totally magical. No snow this year, but it was 30 something degrees, so at least it got us in the spirit.

Here is this year’s beauty. Frasier Firs represent!

Some Christmas slipcovers I made from about $3 of clearance fabric, some burlap and fabric paint.

We also make a list of all of the Christmas movies that we want to watch. In fact, this year we did a Christmas movie draft so that we could each have our favorites equally represented this yuletide season. *This is also our only exception to the Separation of Thanksgiving and Christmas rule. We aim to conquer about 30 Christmas movies, and cutting out a few days for pre-Christmas travel, we had to start watching a few the week of Thanksgiving in order to fit them all in before the big day.

Jacob has started to review (hilariously critique) some of our choices, and you can read that here.

Between Christmas shopping and planning a baby shower for this weekend things are pretty busy around here. I’m really excited about the shower, and I’ve been working on some pretty exciting projects for it, but I can’t post any pictures because they’re a surprise for the mommy-to-be. Okay, maybe one picture of the invitation.

In other news, Jacob and I ran our first 10k over Thanksgiving weekend with our friends Josh and Alex. It was a really fun race and now we are about to start training for the Little Rock half-marathon on March 7! Not gonna lie, I get tired just thinking about running 13 miles. BUT I never thought 6.2 would be so easy, so hopefully the half marathon won’t kill me.
