My friend and co-worker Julie’s birthday was last Friday. Julie’s favorite holiday just happens to be Halloween. She goes all out every year and even has a box of decoration stored in our office storage space. She all but decorated her own office in Halloween decor before she left to go out of town last week. She told us which things she wanted where and made sure we knew where all of her favorite decorations were kept. Now, you all know I love a good decorating party, so I was gung ho to transform Julie’s office into a haunted Halloween haven. UNTIL . . .My boss came up with the brilliant idea to play a birthday prank on Julie and decorate her office with Christmas stuff.
First, we left a teaser outside her door so she would think everything inside would be Halloween themed.
This is what she saw when she opened the door.
Why yes, that is a 9 foot tall Christmas tree on her desk (hooray for tall ceilings).
The birthday girl hard at work.
She was totally shocked. It was hilarious. We even had a Christmas themed potluck for lunch. I attempted to pipe Christmas cupcakes. I promise they tasted better than they look.
Why is is that no matter how much red food coloring you add, homemade frosting always looks pink?
I also did this Michael Jackson painting for Julie’s birthday present.
She loves Michael Jackson almost as much as Halloween. This is the cake we had for the anniversary of his death earlier this summer.
You might say I have a pretty awesome work environment.
Happy Birthday Julie!
