Moving Sale Madness

{ 3 comments }

Despite the toll that the stress of preparing for the moving sale took on me (and the creepers who showed up an hour early), it was an major success! We sold a ton of  cherished belongings crap and made over $500! We stayed up past midnight on Friday getting everything ready and got up at 5:30 Saturday morning to get everything set up. It was a little hectic getting everything arranged in the dark (and did I mention it was 22 DEGREES OUTSIDE!!???), but we made it work and I think everything was very organized and well displayed. Aside from the aforementioned early birds, we had a line of people waiting for us to ‘open’ at 8 and the madness didn’t slow until after noon. I didn’t even have time to take pictures of the set-up or count how much we were making until it was all over. We had NO idea we would make that much, and it was a much needed boost in the ol’ closing costs fund. We spent Saturday night recovering (i.e. Jacob napped and I painted-to each his own, right?) and watching the Razorback game in our pajamas. Yesterday, I finally finished some paintings I’ve been working on for way too long.

I love how they came out.

{Shameless plug: Need a Christmas gift for a Hogs fan? I do custom paintings. email me }

The big, three part one is for my friend Marlo. It was probably a mistake because now my husband is wondering why I never paint any Razorback things for our own house and he’s already brainstorming paintings for when we move :)

Yesterday I also tackled a SOLO ten mile run. I’ve never ran more than six miles by myself and hadn’t ran more than five in two weeks, so I. WAS. SCARED. I have pushed running to the bottom of my priority list and our closing date in less than a month and an injured training partner, my motivation had been rapidly decreasing.

I put off my run for several hours and finally left the house around noon.

Shocker: Not only did I survive, but it was a great run!  I was in pain towards the end, but the weather was amazing and overall I felt really good. The run was a great confidence booster. I’m still a little unsure if I’ll be able to keep up the training intensity over the next few busy weeks by myself, but I have hope that it’ll all work out and Alex and I will cross both finish lines together!
