Yesterday was the first day of fall. Autumn is by far my favorite time of the year. The weather is crisp and cool, the trees are wonderful shades of orange and red, football season is in full swing and the holidays are right around the corner. September always feels like the start of a new year for me- maybe because it’s the start of the school year, maybe it’s the changes in nature.
There’s a lot of big decisions to be made in our little household right now. It’s been stressful, but exciting. For now, I’m trying not to let my anxiety take over and instead focus on apple spice candles, the breeze in the house from having the windows open, turkey chili, and pumpkin beer.
Wanna know what else I’ve been up to this week?
Yesterday afternoon, I painted the windows at work in anticipation of our town’s high school homecoming next week.
Several months ago I dropped my beloved ‘nifty fifty’ lens and this week I finally got a new one.
I finished a new fall wreath for our front door. It’s a combination of felt flowers, embroidered wool leaves, and rolled fabric flowers. Plus lots and lots of hot glue.
I’ve also been working on a top-secret craft project or two for this weekend. I’ll share more details next week.
Last but certainly not least, we may have gotten a giant box from Oriental Trading of Halloween decorations yesterday. So. Excited.
Anyone else love fall as much as I do?
