Fall is by far my favorite season. I can’t say I’ll be sad to see it go because the end of fall means Christmas is right around the corner, but there’s certainly something special about this time of the year. The cooler temperatures and colorful foliage always leave me feeling thankful and blessed.

When I first thought about making a fall banner for the mantle I couldn’t think of the best word to describe the season.

Ultimately, I chose gather.

This past weekend and almost every Saturday since Labor Day we’ve gathered with friends and fellow Hog fans to cheer on our football team. All of the leaves are slowly falling off the trees and gathering in piles just begging children to jump in them.  In two days, we will gather with our loved ones to celebrate our blessings over food, fellowship, and yes, more football.

So, before I gather all of my fall decorations up and store them in the attic until next autumn, I thought I’d show you what fall looks like in our little house.

Fun Fact: The little Eiffel tower isn’t from our honeymoon trip to Paris, it’s actually from our friends Randy and Tamara who live in Switzerland now. We didn’t end up with any cheesy souvenirs from our excursion there, so this little trinket reminds me not only of our wonderful honeymoon, but some of our dearest friends as well.

Don’t you just love that twine pumpkin? (The answer is yes).  In case you’ve been living under a rock, Hobby Lobby puts all of their fall decorations on sale for 80% off after Halloween. That pumpkin was originally $60 and I picked it up for $12.

Fall, you were great while you lasted.

Bring on the mistletoe.
