If you haven’t gathered from the graphic above or the thirty times I’ve mentioned it, we had a Halloween party this past weekend.
I LOVE Halloween. I love the candy, I love the decorations, and I especially love the costumes. We plan ours out months ahead of time and I love to carefully thrift or sew each part of the costume.
This year we were…..
DRUMROLL PLEASE
……………….
……………..
Bellatrix Lestrange, Dumbledore and Harry Potter!
Unfortunately, these are the best pictures we have of all of us together.
Luckily, my friend Betsy took one on her phone
I am really happy with how our costumes came out.
I’ll be back with more details on how I made them later in the week.
We also had appearances by Joaquin Phoenix and Mary Poppins.
At least until they were struck by a spell from Dumbledore’s wand. . .
Richard Simmons and one of his exercise girls graced us with their presence as well![]()
J.K. Rowling forgot to mention that Dumbledore could magically tap a keg
OMG Zombie priest and nun!
(And duh, Speed Racer)
This is the only picture we have of Lois as Harry Potter but I love it so much.
Mary Poppins was handing out spoonfuls of sugar limoncello
Yes.
Times a thousand.
You know, because Mary Poppins and Luigi would totally be friends.
Did I mention Charlie Brown and Lucy were there too?
Sistas.
I was sewing sequins on that damn vest until 5:00 Saturday afternoon.
Jo made the cutest scarecrow
Anna has a bun in the oven!
THIS.
We had a blast hanging out with our friends and seeing all the creative costumes. It was our first holiday party to host in the new (actually, it’s been almost a year since we bought it) house and I can say for certain it won’t be the last.
Ugly Christmas sweater party anyone?

I live with my husband Jacob and dog Lois in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I love painting, cooking, social media, lipstick and the Razorbacks.

The decorations looked great too! I totally need to host a holiday party now to get motivated to decorate!!
OH and that fall wreath you made is insane…I really wanted to make one for fall but now it’s practically winter…guess I’ll just have to make a Christmas one now!
