Aunt Bethany: Is your house on fire, Clark?
Clark: No, Aunt Bethany, those are the Christmas lights.
This year we had grand intentions of decorating the outside of the house a la Clark Griswold. Okay, maybe not quite that many lights.
I bought giant wreaths to hang on the windows, LED colored bulbs to hang on the house and mesh and ornaments to hang on the front doorway.
But then life happened.
Jacob and I both got sick. My grandfather passed away and I flew to Michigan. All of a sudden it was the week before Christmas and we had storms. What are you gonna do?
At least I did hang my wreath on the door and a wreath on the light outside the garage.
I also put out a lighted tree that I bought at Target on clearance after Christmas last year.
We may not have the most decorated house in the neighborhood, but we certainly have one of the cheeriest.
