Hey trashy novel fiends-remember how after the Twilight series ended you were so sad? And then you found Hunger Games and it was great until that ended as well? Cheer up Charlie, I have a new juicy series for you.
You might have guessed from the title- – this book is about witches. Born Wicked is a young adult novel about a witch growing up in a fictionalized 1890s town, where magic is forbidden and the world is controlled by a mean group of religious jerks called The Brothers. Cate, still a teenager, is the oldest of three daughters. Their mother was a witch, but has recently died and Cate promised her mother that she’d protect her sisters. Surprise, surprise, that turns out to be harder than she could have ever imagined. Cate and her sisters have extraordinary powers, but they aren’t allowed to use them, for fear of being locked away in an asylum or put to death.
But let’s be honest, we all know why you read these books…the steamy high school love stories. Born Wicked doesn’t disappoint in this avenue my friends.
It is packed full of cute boys and forbidden kisses and love triangles. Yes, please.
This is the kind of book that you start and finish in one day because you can’t put it down. Unfortunately, you have to wait until February to read the next one.
I will definitely be reading the other two books in the trilogy. In the meantime, jump on the Born Wicked train with me, won’t you?
