Even though we weren’t able to make it down to central Arkansas to spend the Easter holiday with our families, we still had quite the enjoyable weekend.
Saturday marked the first Fayetteville Farmers’ Market of the year and it was absolutely packed.
I picked up some lettuce plants for my garden, asparagus and a bouquet of flowers.
Saturday afternoon we walked to the softball fields down the street for a helicopter Easter egg hunt. Yes, you read that right. 15,000 easter eggs dropped from a helicopter in 4 waves. It was as amazing as it sounds.
In fact, I even took a video of the spectacle if you’re so inclined. Please ignore my annoying narration.
On Sunday morning, we went over to Alex and Josh’s house for Easter brunch. I made deviled eggs and these cupcakes. Josh grilled steaks and Alex made mini quiche, rosemary roasted potatoes and sangria.
It was all so delicious. We spent the afternoon playing football in the yard and demolishing the entire batch of cupcakes.
If you can’t spend a holiday with your family, it’s nice to have wonderful friends to spend it with instead.
After brunch at the Clarks, I planted my farmers’ market purchases in my vegetable garden. Updates on the garden are coming up this week, by the way.
It was a really good, relaxing weekend. Although it left some of us more tired than others…
