On Saturday I posted this photo while basking in some good ol’ sunshine.
Not five minutes later, it started pouring. Torrential rain. Like tree limbs and power lines across the street rain.
I was just sick thinking about our friends Jordan and Nathan who were getting married outside in less than three hours.
Luckily, the rain stopped just before the wedding. Because they’re awesome, they handled the unexpected weather (hello, it hadn’t rained in a month!) like champs and the ceremony was moved indoors last-minute and went off without a hitch.
Isn’t Jo’s dress gorgeous? It was vintage and she altered it herself!
The reception was also outside as well, and while the rain had soaked some of the paper products, it made the temperature drop a welcome thirty degrees or so.
Jordan and Nathan have such great style and it was really apparent at their reception. Long tables were lined with flowers, lanterns, mason jars and custom menus.

Instead of wedding cakes, they had a huge table of homemade wedding pies.
See how awesome that solarium(?) room is? The house where the reception was held was seriously amazing you guys. These pictures don’t even do it justice. Betsy and I were definitely just following the owners around at one point and creepily telling them how great their collections were.
You can’t have a billiards room without an embalmed two-headed cow right?
Once the newlyweds arrived, they greeted everyone and then promptly proceeded to create the cutest photo-op ever by paddling out to the middle of a little pond in a row boat.
As the sun went down, lights strung through the trees and across the lawn made the whole scene look even more picturesque.
Father/daughter dance. Not a dry eye in the house for this one.
Cutting the cake pie
Then it was time to get down on the dance floor.
AND they had a really fun outdoor photo booth set up. You know yours truly hit that up a time or five.
Amazing, yes?
Back to the dancing!
At some point, people decided to jump into the pool and things got kind of hazy after that. Literally.
One of these girls jumped in the pool and still looks beautiful and the other just looks like she jumped in the pool because she’s really, really sweaty. Any guesses who’s who?
All too soon, it was time for the new Strayhorns to ride their tandem bike off into the sunset busy street.
Congratulations Jordan and Nathan!

Woah! That is the SWEETEST wedding!! I love how creative they’ve been with the whole thing. Wedding PIE?! Come on, that is BRILLIANT.
The day/night looked utterly brilliant, despite the sudden rain!
