This past weekend we took our annual July trip to Branson, Missouri, with Jacob’s family. This year we stayed at a different resort, Chateau on the Lake, which was, you guessed it, on the lake. The grounds and pool were really nice but the view was spectacular.
I made it my mission to soak up as much sun as possible.
On Saturday, I woke up and had breakfast by the pool…
and after a short break for lunch, marched right back down to the pool for the rest of the afternoon.
Eventually everyone else joined me and we ordered a few cocktails poolside.

Meanwhile, the sun was setting and the result was breathtaking
Sunday morning came all too soon and it was time to say goodbye. At least we managed to get one group shot (minus my father-in-law who’s taking the picture), right?
And with that July came and went. Here’s to a not-so-sweltering August (it’s not looking good so far) and football season just around the corner!
