My nephew’s Sesame street-themed first birthday party is by far the most popular post on the blog. So it was only fitting that his second birthday be quite the festive occasion.
My sister-in-law decided on a ‘mustache’ theme and I got to work on an invitation and some other printables.
We kept the decor simple this year and used balloons, tissue poufs and a few paper lanterns as a backdrop to the food table. Sommer (my sister-in-law) bought some cute mustache-themed pins on Etsy, and I made some little signs and food labels that matched the invitations.
She also picked up some mustache stickers that we had fun sticking on balloons and random framed pictures of Maddox.
Oh, that cute banner? She ‘threw that together’ the night before with some leftover burlap and paint. Adorable.
For favors, we stuffed chocolate chip cookies in CD sleeves and I made a little sticker to add to the envelope.
I ordered this mustache lollipop mold off of Amazon for $1.85 and it worked like a charm. The lollipops were so easy to make and a hit with the party guests.
The birthday boy had a ton of people show up for his party, so he got just a little spoiled with gifts.
It’s so fun that he’s finally old enough to get excited when he gets to open presents.
But none of the regular toys mattered when his uncle Chris (Sommer’s brother) brought out the gift he had brought…
“Is this mine?”
“No, seriously?”
I think you could say he was a little excited.
I know he’s related to me, but seriously, how cute is this kid?
Another highlight of the day was seeing our friends Wes and Autumn for the first time since they found out they are expecting a little one late this summer.
Hot mommas. Mother-to-be, mother of a two-year old (how is he that old?!) and mother of a corgi/beagle furry mutt.
Just to clarify: NOT pregnant. Promise ;)
Sommer also bought some cute props for photo ops. Aunt Jessi and Uncle Jacob sure do love you, buddy.
Happy 2nd Birthday Maddox! What a handsome little gentleman you are turning out to be.

I live with my husband Jacob and dog Lois in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I love painting, cooking, social media, lipstick and the Razorbacks.
