The girls take on Hot Springs

Oh wow. It’s been almost a month since I logged in and posted a little something to this here blog. Actually, that’s not true. I’ve logged in a handful of times, started a post, then gotten pulled away to a work meeting or something of the like.

Regardless, I DO have quite a bit to say now that my absolute favorite time of the year has arrived, and I have officially survived the ‘busy season’ at my job. But today let’s talk about the bachelorette party I helped throw in Hot Springs last weekend. My darling friend Michelle, the same one from my last post about her bridal shower, is getting married in TWO WEEKS!

We rented two villas on the lake in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and twelve other girls and I tried to show the blushing bride a good time.

So we may have found ourselves at a honky tonk bar at 9 p.m. only to discover that we were about twenty years too young and a cowboy hat or two short. And we may have convinced our shuttle driver to stop at Taco Bell at approximately 2:30 in the morning which is always simultaneously the best and worst decision one can make in the wee hours of the night. But in the meantime, we danced and laughed and cried and danced and laughed even more.

But man, these friends of mine. I am so lucky to have had such wonderful women in my life for the last 13 or so years. I seriously can’t wait to party with them again in two weeks for Michelle’s big day!

Melissa’s Last Fling Before the Ring

Now that I’ve finally finished recapping our Switzerland trip, we can catch up on everything else that’s been going on in the Leonard household lately. If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, you probably gathered that my little sister got married this past Saturday.

It was a beautiful day and everything was perfect. The bride and groom were glowing.

BUUUUUUUT that’s not what we’re here to talk about today. Before you have a wedding, you have to have….

A Bachelorette Party!

We decided to go gambling in Tunica, Mississippi, for Melissa’s bachelorette weekend. You should know by now that I love a good party theme, so I designed the invitations to reflect the casino destination. With online games and Bataviaslot online gambling is a lot more simpler and fun.

Obviously I had to decorate the car to achieve maximum bridal embarrassment.

We booked a suite at the Gold Strike casino and arrived Saturday afternoon. Fun fact: Mississippi is one of only 6 states that serves free alcohol in casinos.

I ordered bachelorette-themed petit fours and made custom labels for mini champagne bottles.

We donned the bachelorette with a sash, veil, giant necklace and ‘Bride’ pin.

Then it was time to open lingerie shower gifts.

The gals.

We had a fantastic dinner at a casino steakhouse and spent the rest of the night gambling and giggling.

In case you’re wondering, I am officially the world’s worst roulette player.

It was a fun little getaway and I really enjoyed getting to know Melissa’s bridesmaids a little better.
