Well, so much for life slowing down. I am beyond busy at work and home this week, so this post I started on Monday morning is just now getting written. Story of my life.
After our Thanksgiving in Cabot, we drove back to Fayetteville to get ready for the Razorbacks’ last game of the season. It was freezing and we lost, but my parents came and at least we were able to sit with them.
Friday evening we took my family to see the Lights of the Ozarks on the Downtown Fayetteville Square.
After we got home from the lights, my mom and I planned out our second feast of the holiday weekend. We prepped until 1:30 a.m. and got up at 6 to start over again.
Since Jacob and I spent our Thanksgiving with his family, I decided to cook for my family on Saturday. My mother-in-law, brother-in-law and nephew came up as well so we had a full house. After 12 hours on my feet and a giant meal, I was exhausted and full but it was oh so worth it.
After dinner we bundled up and headed back to the Square to show our nephew Maddox the lights.
I think it’s safe to say the little guy was impressed.
It was a long weekend, but it was so nice to have two Thanksgiving dinners, two outings to see the lights – basically two holidays. In fact, can we have Thanksgiving again? This week has about done me in.
Cheers to the (almost) weekend!
